The inspiration of this design comes from the TEKE African tribe living in Central Africa (DRC, RC, Gabon). The long line (filled with the coloured stones) of the necklace is the horizon line, the triangular forms represent the lakes and mountains, three white jade lines representing the rivers lead to the central part in red forming the letter X is the main figure representing the human presence.

The materials are natural stones, silver accessories, stainless steel string. I usually create no more than 2-3 identical items, this time I’ve created only one piece for various reasons: First of all, the white jade stones are very rare and I didn’t find more than those used here and second, I wanted this item to remain unique because it’s inspired from the years I passed in Congo and from the unique people I’ve met in this Continent. It’s a tribute to some of them.
