“ARABESQUES” CANDLEHOLDERS

Candleholders inspired from the ancient Greek designs called “meander” used in the architecture friezes and potteries of Ancient Greece from the Geometric Period onwards. Conforming to history, “meander” recalls the twisting and turning path of the Meander river in Asia Minor and on the other hand according to Karl Kerenyi, the “meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form”. Meanders were among the most important symbols in Ancient Greece and perhaps symbolized infinity and unity.

The different candleholders can be used alone or combined to create interesting compositions. Exists for one, two and three candles.
